RideNote - Support & FAQ

Getting Started

What is RideNote?

RideNote helps mountain bikers track bike settings and remember what worked on different trails. It's a personal ride journal focused on tire pressure, suspension settings, and how each setup felt.

How does it work?

  1. Set your baseline: Enter your "normal" tire and suspension pressures once
  2. Log what changes: After a ride, note what you adjusted and how it felt
  3. Search later: When you return to a trail, quickly see what worked before

Everything is stored locally on your phone—no account, no cloud sync.

Who is this for?

Weekend warriors who ride 2-4 times a month and want to remember settings without becoming suspension engineers. If you've ever wondered "was 27 or 28 PSI better last time?"—this is for you.

What it's NOT:

  • Not a social platform or community
  • Not a technical suspension tuning tool
  • Not a bike maintenance tracker
  • Not an AI recommendation engine

Common Questions

General

Q: Do I need an account?

No. RideNote works entirely offline with no login required.

Q: Does it cost money?

The app is free at launch. If we add premium features later, the core functionality will remain free.

Q: Does it work offline?

Yes! RideNote is designed for trailheads with no cell service. Everything works without internet.

Q: What happens to my data?

All data stays on your iPhone. We never see it, collect it, or transmit it anywhere.

Q: Can I use it on Android?

Not yet. iPhone only for now.

Bikes

Q: Can I track multiple bikes?

Yes! Add as many bikes as you own. Each bike has its own baseline settings and ride history.

Q: What bike types are supported?

Full suspension, Hardtail (fork only), and Rigid (no suspension).

Q: Can I add a bike photo?

Yes, it's optional. Choose from your camera roll when setting up a bike.

Q: Can I change my baseline later?

Absolutely. Your baseline isn't locked—update it anytime as your preferences evolve.

Logging Setups

Q: What's a "baseline"?

Your baseline is your default/normal pressure settings. The app pre-fills these values when you log a new setup, so you only need to change what's different. Saves time.

Q: Do I have to log every field?

No. The only required field is rating the ride (Grip/Feel/Control sliders). Everything else is optional.

Q: What are "Grip, Feel, and Control"?

These are three dimensions for rating how your bike felt:

  • Grip: How much traction you had (Loose ↔ Grippy)
  • Feel: How the suspension felt (Firm ↔ Plush)
  • Control: How confident you felt (Sketchy ↔ Dialed)

This helps you spot patterns faster than just text notes.

Q: Can I just write notes?

Yes! There's a dedicated "Note" feature for quick observations that aren't tied to a specific setup.

Q: How long does it take to log a setup?

Our goal is 60 seconds or less. Most riders log: adjusted pressures, 3 slider ratings, and maybe trail name. That's it.
